Software for banner creation?

I was going to ask, is there a software which can help me to create banners? I'm about to open a forum and I need to create a banner. Any ideas?

photoshop but it also takes some know how.
probably be easier to ask someone who is good at it to make it for you. photoshop is fairly expensive. but if you decide you want to make it all yourself its a great skill to have. there are several tutorial sites you can learn from. just do a google search for ''photoshop logo tutorial''

I don't think you need a special banner software. Just use Photoshop or Paintshop Pro or whatever graphic software you have there. Or if you want flash banners, you can use Macromedia Flash.
