Go to www.goldwave.com
Download RazorLAME (on downloads page). It's a great, easy to use, little app that converts a whole bunch of different formats and stuff. If you want, download Goldwave as well, as it's a rather useful audio editing proggy for audiophiles like myself

I've always used iTunes with no problem at all.

I'll try out razorLAME thanks. I've never been a fan of iTunes so I have stayed away. I don't have a full copy of Nero, so I was limited in how many I could convert. Thanks guys.

I personally use MusicMatch if I need to convert mp3 to wav, wav to mp3, or change formats on an mp3. Then again, I bought the lifetime upgrades while it was still at version 3 or 4. Not sure how well the 'free' edition of it works for that sort of stuff.

You can also use sound recorder (start / run / sndrec32) which is built into windows... at least the one on XP.
Open a .wav, save-as, change the file type to *.* (all files,) click the change button at the bottom and choose mpeg layer 3 (and sample rate / stereo as you wish,) then change your file name to what you want it to be with a .mp3 suffix and you're done. |
