Videos on webpages not playing

For example the video on this page...
http://www.nbc-2.com/articles/readar...id=3404&z=3&p=

The screen is black and it just says "ready."

When I ask it to identify the problem through right-clicking Error Details, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play any files in the playlist. For additional information, right-click the media that won't play and click Error Details." (Which is what I just did)

I tried switching Windows Media Player to the default player for all video types, that didn't work (besides I never needed to before) and I also tried updating to Windows Media Player 10.

Are there drivers I haven't found that need to be updated? Help!

It really could be anything. Try a bunch of things, switching browsers, updating media players, or any troubleshooter guides they may have on the internet, but if you can't find a way around it, and sometimes these problems do workout themselves, you have to do a clean reinstall. I had the same problem and after awhile it came to that. Its probably some option you turned on or off by mistake. That or screwed it up some way, program conflicts, ect. Tell me how it turns out, ok True Orb.

Try switching browsers. Go for opera. In that you can change the default application for playing movies. Install Vlc player. It plays almost all formats.

You will need to try switching browsers... Although I say this, there isn't actually a video on that page!

Also, videos should not play in Windows Media Player unless you download them; they should play in your browser. Are you sure that you have really got a problem?

Maybe the deal is about your browser or plugins? Try using Firefox!
