Wink Good Recording Software?

Hey guys, I need some help. If you happened to have read the Long Weekend thread, then you would've read that I just got a microphone for my computer... Now I'm looking to get a decent and hopefully free program to use so that I can record from the mic.

I'm trying to record a couple of things on guitar for Illya... or if anybody has any requests, I can record those as well ...

Any suggestions for sound recording? I'm looking for some kind of program which is "free" to use

checkout sourceforge.net There you`ll find many open sourced softwares on encoding the wave format mic sound into other formats like mp3 etc.
