AMD64 vs Intel EM64T in Windows XP Pro x64 Edition

Thought this is an interesting read. It compares AMD64 vs EM64T in the latest beta release of Windows XP Pro x64 Edition. Looks like the AMD64 performs quite a bit better.

i think people really under estimate intel, just like nvidia vs ati, one goes faster the other goes faster.

most comparisons arent really fair though because they dont include the price.

if your gonna compare speeds of systems, video cards, whatever they should be price related also.

200.00 video cards

if the ati cost 220.00 and the nvidia costs 200.00 then 10% of speed should be taken off and given to nvidia. how many fps is great, but i rarely hear a realistic how much does each fps cost.

Win xp 64bit is fast. It loads up in 6 seconds on my athlon 64 2800+. It runs 32bit applications faster then on 32bit OSes with the exception of linux. because it vaporizes any competition hands down.

This is what i've noticed for nvidia and ati... Nvidia is good for video and opengl stuff. The direct 3d support is horrid; noticed it when i played the Half Life 2 Demo. Dunno about the new ones. Ati is good with direct 3d dunno about opengl plus other stuff.
