Norton Internet Security removal

Ok, anyone have any idea how to get rid of this crap? I'm working on someone's PC and they have never used it (it apparently came with their Dell ) but whenever I try to uninstall it it tells me I need to be logged into Norton with an administrator account...but they have never set one up. Any ideas?

You could try an uninstaller application like Your Uninstaller Should alleviate a lot of unnecessary time wasted if it works and it usually works pretty well. Just have to make sure to check msconfig, services.msc, shartup, and prefetch for its traces and CCleaner usually does a pretty good job of removing the rest.

first go to start run services.msc and disable everything norton, reboot.

then do start run regedit and open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
then find SOFTWARE and delete the symantec folder.
then do a search for norton and symantec and delete all the files you find.

then clear the back-ups from the rig.

that would probably do it

Don't you hate that Norton. Almost as annoying as aol is to remove. The AIM client is pretty annoying too.

Try going into super user mode. Or do it through the safe mode.
