AVG free edition is good too. I used it before I had my Kaspersky internet security 6.0. I think AVG is the best option if you don't want to spend money on software

I'm using AVG, the free one. I love it not only because it's free but because it's light. It's better than McAfee.

I was good for about 1 year without a virus scanner. Wish it would have lasted longer since they tend to slow down your computer but after my last virus infected all 5 of my comps about a week ago, I've reinstalled the scanners. The virus slowed all of my computers, made surfing the internet and starting the computer almost impossible and couldn't be removed after I installed the scanners. Had to do a complete software reinstall on all comps.
