Dining out?

  • Pay attention to preparation methods on the menu — the simpler, the better. Look for words like "fresh," "roasted," "steamed," "poached," and "grilled." Order broth-based soups instead of cream ones, and choose tomato sauces over cream in pasta dishes.
  • Avoid the breadbasket. A single slice can pack 70 calories or more!
  • Order gravy, sauces, and dressing on the side and use sparingly. Ask if nonfat or low-fat options are available.
  • Choose an appetizer over an entrée. You'll save calories and money! Steer clear of fried, breaded, or fatty items.
  • Restaurant portions are often two or three times larger than a serving size. Plan to take half or more of your dinner home for another meal!
  • Visualize yourself sticking to your goals before you go! You can do it!

I recently learned that bread is bad for you. Lots of starch and worse of all, has all the "bad" yeast that will grow inside you killing off the "good" yeast.

do not think of read as a food, but rather as a tool. It is the clamp to your turkey, cheese, and mustard. It is a spoon for chilly, it is a great product that keeps countless people employed, from gain, tomanufacturing, to bagging, to transportation, to sales, to gas. The least you could do is eat a few slices to honor all those american who help in the process of making this single slice of bread on the basket infront of you even an option!
DO your duty.
Eat the bread.

I'm not agreeing to anything about anything... what you mean? She's talking about dining out, I'm talking about why bread is bad for you.
