Need some advice

I know those of you who saw my pics in my thread can see how much weight i've lost so far.

But it's starting to slow down (i think i'm hitting my equilibrium intake/burn on my calories). I want to reach size 44 on my waist and am down to 54 from 64... (yes, a 20 inch loss! I was size 52 as a senior in highschool!)

So far, I have been more active. Taking care of my daughter. Walking more every day. I will be walking even more when my wife and I get moved into our new home (with a farm that I'll be working on taking care of).

I'm still a huge guy and have some physical problems brought on from my size (and past sports injuries). bad knee. bad ankle, bad shoulder, bad lower back. Aside from walking (which is low impact and i'm slowly doing more and more of) and basic farm chores (keeping brush/weeds/lawn clean, keeping fruit orchard neat, etc.).... what are some simple low-impact exercises i can start out with on a small scale and do for maybe 20-30 minutes a day (about all i have free now and will have free for a long time) that will help me out?

There are so many people out there that don't know how good they have it to be able to do something 'normal' like walk up stairs without shooting pain, or to sit up in bed and not become winded (i used to be like that), or to walk from their house to their car and have to wait 10 minutes to catch their breath (me last summer).

I couldn't bend over to clip my own toe-nails. I couldn't get myself 'clean' in a shower because I just couldn't reach all of me! I would have a monthly shoe budget because I was so heavy, shoes broke down in 3-4 weeks of use. I had to have help just to stand up oftentimes. I couldn't even get down in the floor to pick up trash in the house.

All I had to look forward to day in and day out was what I was going to eat. All I cared about was feeding myself. All I wanted was more and more food. I couldn't get enough food to satisfy the hunger in me. I still feel that hunger... that insatiable desire for food. I have to constantly fight it. No matter how much I would eat (and eat nowadays), it's not enough. I could and still do feel myself fill up, and can't stop eating. I couldn't stop myself then and my stomach capacity grew and grew. Now, even though it's shrunk down to almost 'normal' portions, I have troubles stopping eating. What I have isn't enough. I feel full, but the push, the desire to keep eating is still there.

I can defeat it 90% of the time. but that other 10% keeps slowing down my progress.

You're such an inspiration Frank...you really are. I'm sure than when many, or maybe even most, people read that, they may not fully understand. But I do. I deal with it on a daily basis myself. So, as I'm sure you know, you're not alone.

To answer your question about how to get over your probably "plateau" what I suggest is adding some light interval training. For example, when you are walking, pick up the pace for a minute or two by speed walking or doing some light jogging if your body can handle it. Then return to walking until you catch your breath. You could also alternate from light cardio to strength training (using hand weights, push ups, sit ups, etc).

You're awesome, Frank!
