Helmet Safety!

Biking, skateboarding, and in-line skating are all fun activities and great ways for your child to get exercise. However, because of the very real risk of head injury, be sure your child never attempts them without a helmet. Keep the fun safe with these tips from safety experts on choosing and using helmets:
Choose a multi sport helmet with a Snell B-95 safety rating. These offer the best protection in the event of an accident.
Make sure the helmet sits flat on your child's head, about two finger widths above his or her eyebrows. The helmet should not tilt to the front or back.
Check to see that the helmet straps form a Y shape over your child's ears. You may need to adjust them.
Always fasten the strap under your child's chin.
Choose a size that fits snugly and does not rock back and forth or side to side. Check the fit from time to time as your child grows.
Choose a color and design your child likes. In fact, why not shop for the helmet together? Your child is much more likely to wear the helmet if it fits his or her tastes and personality. Make it fun!

Meh, the couple accidents I've had on a bike a helmet would have done nothing. Tore a muscle in my leg and a small gash on the side of my ankle from where the gears caught it after slipping off a rut in the road. Though there was the time I did a flip over the handlebars...
