Plastic Bottles revisited

New article about plastic bottles - chemicals leaching out into the container...

a plastic container may leak chemicals such as phthalates or Bisphenol A into the bottled water, both with carcinogenic effects and even linked to obesity by triggering fat-cell activity.

super....but I'm curious about the leaking of chemicals, is there a study somewhere? Just because an article says it doesn't mean I believe it...not saying its not true, but would like a reliable source

But yes I agree...bottled water is retarded and wasteful.

the person who wrote that article speaks english as a second language. it really looks like an article that was purchased for that website. there are several blogs like that and there are several producers of the articles like that.
i know a bunch of them. its all a part of the SEO game.

IF it's true, I think it's based on re-using the bottles.

Your tap water must be good cause you sure wouldn't want to be drinking the tap here. Bottled water is all I'll drink from this town.

The group that controls the plastics info makes sure that info does NOT get out.
I believe its called "The Plastics Counsel of America" it is not in their best
interest if that type of info gets out. The problem with reuse is bacteria in
the microporous structure of the plastic...

None of this really surprises me, except that bottled water might help you in getting fat. The water is really bad around here, but I have a brita water filter pitcher that I replace fairly often. It does a pretty good job and the plastic used on that pitcher doesn't stay in contact with the water too long anyway. I usually finish a pitcher every day.
