Yeah, I know flatness is the key. I also use a sheet of glass, use 320, 400, 600, 800, 1500 grit sandpaper. Then I use lapping compound but I don't get near the shine rhino gets. Guess the key to the shine is spending alot of time. Again, flatness is the key but if you can get a shine that you can see yourself in, that's just cool.

the finer grits take take time is all, and not pressing so hard on them also helps. but it also depends on the metals. ive been sharpening chisels for wood carving to a mirror finish for years so this was something already had quite a bit of experience with. but its not hard to do by any means, just takes patience.

that doesn't sound like all that high of clocks, as i got higher clocks than that at 1.8v on my 9700TX flashed to PRO. I even managed a 3DMark2001 run at 495 iirc.
what did it do on air?
(for those of you who don't know, I sold this to him)

480 artifact free at ambient temps is pretty good.
if i hooked up my chiller i would easily go above 500 core artifact free.
this card hit 447 stock cooling.

i never really clocked it as high as it will go i just have gone slightly over the artifact free point for benching.

i did a bench at 507/409
but that was at around 6 or 7 C
