Um, slight problem...
A few days ago I picked up a trojan from somewhere (CTPMON.Win32.x Trojan) that has been giving me weird popups and random crashes every now and then. I'd been planning on installing the new retail version of Vista Ultimate when I could afford it (in a few weeks), but seeing as I kinda need it now that I'm too cheap to buy an anti-virus (I hate them anyway) I'm going to get Vista sometime this weekend.
So, the problem:
My comp had been on for a few hours while I was gone (folding, of course), and I came back and tried to use it, only to find that the keyboard had gone dead (no lights, no response), the screen had been dyed a nasty shade of blood red. The thing was entirely non-responsive, so I rebooted it. It works fine now, but it's still blood red... occasionally flashing bright purple for a few seconds, tho.
I don't know if it's my drivers, my display (Mom's MAG 700P 17" LCD for the time being), or my graphics card...
Can you guys tell me if this is normal colored or if it's red or purple? I can't really tell from the screenshots, 'cause my screen is the wrong colors...
This one is red?
This one is purple?
Here's some actual pictures of it that I took... you can see the red in these...
I'm gonna go download the newest drivers from nVidia... I'll see if that helps...
Other than that and reformatting (will do when I get the new Vista), I can't really think of anything to do to fix this...
Any ideas, anyone?
I'll let you know how the driver reinstallation works out... I just wanted to post this up so you guys could see what happens when my comp goes crazy
I hope you guys enjoyed this... lemme know if you can help
TIA
