Inspiration? The thought that my yet to be born daughter (1 week to go to inducement date as of today) might grow up without a dad because he ate himself to death. I didn't want that to happen.
The hardest part wasn't cutting back on food. Christina helped me with that and from june-december, i managed to cut way back to where i eat as much, if not less than she does, and she had gastric-bypass surgery 4 years ago! The hardest part was cutting out the soda/sugar drinks. I had to cold-turkey those.
Once I cut them out, it was just a matter of everytime i had the urge to drink them, chug down water till i was 'sick of it'. I'd often be chugging 4-5 gallons of water a day. as a side-effect, i'd hafta pee every hour on the hour. and boy, did it stink. it smelled like a skunk died in my bladder. then about 4-5 weeks into the 'cold turkey' on the soda, i quit having urges to drink so much, and my urine quit smelling so bad. in fact, it's smell free now. I'm down to about 1 to 2 gallons of water a day now, and i feel much more energy than I had.
Like I said in the first post, I hope to lose another 8-10 inches off my waist. That will mean me being smaller than I was in highschool when i graduated in 2001.
